Services Overview
Basic Obedience Group Lessons:
Our group lessons are structured so that handlers teach their dogs’ basic obedience in a group atmosphere under the instruction of certified instructors. Group Lessons are conducted with various types of distraction so that dogs learn to respond to handler commands in any situation. Introduction to agility equipment has been incorporated in all our training packages at no additional charge.
Basic Obedience Classes are broken down into two levels. Level I and Level II.
Level I: Handlers learn our basic one word commands and are instructed on how to implement the commands in ways that their dog will quickly understand. Basic problem solving will be introduced in Level I and continue into Level II. Level I classes are specifically designed for new handler/dog teams and young dogs (under 8 months of age). Level I classes concentrate mainly on teaching place-board work, sit and recall (come). Some hand signals are introduced in Level I classes. All dogs in Level I work on leash. Once a handler/dog team has mastered place-board work, sit and come, they move to Level II classes.
Level II: Level II classes are structured to build on and refine what the handler/dog team has learned in Level I. Use of hand signals and body language will be stressed in Level II lessons. New commands such as down and heel are taught in Level II. Dogs in Level II classes work both on-leash and off-leash, close to the handler and from a distance. Handler/dog teams that master all commands taught in Level II will be evaluated and tested for graduation.
